2023 Global Temperature Report

This just in from Berkeley Earth. The definitive report on 2023 global temperatures. Lots of incredible graphs to peruse but the news is pretty incredible. Actual temperatures far surpassed predictions. "At the start of 2023, we foresaw only a 14% chance that 2023 would become a record warm year, and only a ~1% chance that 2023 would reach 1.5 °C. The actual evolution of 2023 appears to have been highly unlikely and unexpected given the conditions at the start of the year...2023 is definitely a major misfit for this predictive model, but it remains to be seen if 2023 is merely an unusual outlier or if it is an indication of unexpected changes ahead."  Here's a Washington Post article based on the same data: https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/interactive/2024/mapping-our-fast-warming-world/?itid=sf_climate_climate_top-table_p001_f002

Worth a full read and sharing with others. Our work continues!  Happy New Year all.

Thanks for sharing! Lots of bad news to found in environmentalism, seemingly always! Here is my modest attempt to help provide two “sort of” short, good ones for a Friday! (First one isn’t as great as it sounds, but better than the alternative!)
