Hey gang,
We're working on a project that's currently designed as mass timber. We're up against some cost control efforts (of course) and the CM/Client is asking about changing some of the building to steel or green steel. We set out with a goal on the project that within the core and shell, Module A GWP emissions will be net zero. Inclusive of biogenic carbon.
We’re reducing the building footprint and looking at green steel to lower the impacts of adding some steel for a hybrid structure.
We’ve found Nucor’s Econiq product. Seems like their normal steel products but they are buying offsets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions and making the claim of net-zero steel.
Has anyone had luck procuring/finding any information about this?
I’ve called corporate and various plants with no luck.
Thanks,
Bill
