I have an owner that is interested in installing bird glazing for their Airport project. We are pursuing the quality view credit which somewhat limits our options for bird safe glazing. Acid etchings or UV patterns are much more difficult to see than many dotted or stripping patterns but they can still be visible to the viewer who is looking hard enough. Does this glass disqualify me from achieving the quality view credit?

On page 747 LEED BD+C v4 guideline in further explanation about vision glazing, it states that:
“Vision glazing is defined as that portion of exterior windows that permits views to the exterior (or an atrium). Vision glazing must have a clear image of the exterior, not obstructed by frits, fibers, patterned glazing, or added tints that distort color balance (Figures 4–8). Some patterns are acceptable if they preserve the view.” Therefore, as long as the glass with patterns can preserve the view, it should be qualified.
