Hello Pros,
In regards to listing structural and interior steel products on the LEED coversheet.
I requested the steel subcontractor to complete the LEED coversheet for 2 submittals; one for interior steel and one for structural steel.
The steel subcontractor responds with 1 LEED coversheet for the 2 submittals, copies of certified material reports listing (12) materials from 2 separate manufacturers, EPDs, the 2 manufacturer's recycling letters, The LEED coversheet lists 2-overall costs for each of the 2 manufacturers materials. GRrrrr...
Please confirm or correct for me please:
Each of the 2 submittal LEED Coversheets needs to be completed for each submittal;
All (12) steel materials need to listed separately on each of their related LEED coversheets, with each of their corresponding costs. No umbrella cost.
Thank you for your input! - AP

Hello,
Since I haven't received any responses, I am going to attempt to answer my own question.
Yes, the Steel Contractor needs to provide 2 separate LEED coversheets for the 2 separate interior steel and structural steel submittals.
If this is incorrect or there is another option, I hope someone will let me know.
Thank you,

Hello Allison,
for each unique steel product the project team will be required to obtain from the product supplier: mill specific post- and pre-consumer recycled content percentage. the date of the recycled content information must correspond with the date the steel was purchased for the product.
Company-wide recycled content rates are not accepted by GBCI.
Third-party confirmation of manufacturer's claimed recycled content rates are not required by GBCI.
AND, if the product is claiming to be 'regional' then LEED Interpretation 10441 outlines the 'point of extraction'. Likewise, manufacturer claims of extraction point(s) are accepted by GBCI. https://www.usgbc.org/leedaddenda/10441
Hope this helps!

Thank you very much, Dave! It truly helps and we do have the mill reports for most.
As you said, this is for each unique steel product. Would that include Rebar for Division 3, Concrete?

Yes, recycled content of the rebar in the concrete would also require mill-specific recycled content rate.
When we cannot obtain recycled content of the steel we use the LEED-allowed 25% default recycled content for steel products.
