I am the Moderator of the 2023 Strategic Council and the call for nominations for the 2024-2026 Strategic Council at-large representatives has just been released. I would encourage any interested parties to apply for this position.
The Strategic Council’s purpose is to develop ideas to inform future needs and opportunities for the profession. Formed in 2015, the Strategic Council advances the architecture profession by informing the Board and other AIA bodies about important professional issues and opportunities.
I think numerous people in this group could be strong candidates – I would point out this sentence in the call: In particular, the Council is seeking nominees with a strong understanding of Equity, Climate Change, Business, Design, and Strategic Planning.
I have found the council to be engaging and worthwhile. And councilors vote on the big AIA awards: Gold Medal, Firm, Kemper and Whitney – such fun!
