NC-v4.1 EQp1:Minimum Indoor Air Quality Performance

Engineered Natural Ventilation or Mechanical Ventilation

Dear all, we are working on a student residence in which every room is equipped with a façade-mounted trickle vent, allowing for the entrance of outdoor air at a rate of 40 m3/hour which is compliant to the minimum set in ASHRAE 62.2:2016. Outdoor air is forced to enter the room by means of a mechanical extraction placed in the room private toilet, with a continuous rate of 40 m3/hour, and governed by a roof- mounted central electric exhaust fan of 2000 m3/h serving more rooms.

The façade-mounted trickle vent placed in every room is permanently open.

Does this system qualify as Engineered Natural Ventilation or Mechanical Ventilation for the purpose of EQp1 and also EQc1?

Hi Paola, I have the same situation in my project. Were you able to find out anything? Regards
