Hello! Our team is researching opportunities to reduce SHG loads on an 8-story new construction university residence hall. The question has come up regarding the use of external-fixed louvers or shades. How are these features to be modeled?
- Are they incuded in the Baseline and Proposed cases in the same way?
- Are they excluded from Baseline and included in Proposed?
- Or are they excluded from both?
LEED seems to promote these devices, but want to make sure we are interpreting the ASHRAE definition of these devices correctly in the model.
