CS-v4 MRp1:Storage and collection of recyclables

Dumpster sizes for the recyclables during the construction ?

Hi, LEED Users!

Can you please help me figure out, whether the dumpster sizes for the recyclables in the construction area should meet any standard under CS-v4 MRp1?

I can't find any related information.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Marine, There are no size requirements, and they can vary greatly based on project needs, space, hauler, etc. It's up to the team to make sure it's adequate and appropriately monitored, whatever the setup.

Hi Marine,
MRP1 is not about waste during construction, but for the operational stage. MRp2 and MR5 are the credits for construction waste. However, waste bin sizes are not stated neither in MRp1, MRp2, or MR5.
For MRp1, project team must show how are the waste bin storage and collection properly facilitated on site. The project must provide dedicated areas accessible to waste haulers and building occupants for the collection and storage of recyclable materials include mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, glass, plastics, metals, and two of the following: batteries, mercury-containing lamps, and electronic waste (LEED BD+C v4 page 473).
Regarding MRp2 and MR5, LEED is more concern with the % of diverted waste and recyclables waste stream treated on site.
