This pilot credit is easily achievable where mandates and infrastructure (by municipality and/or base building in case of CI project) are in place. Future consideration should be made to incentivize (award credit to) projects in locations with no composting mandate as a two-year contract with a private hauler is required.

There are a few additional LEED requirements that go beyond mandates, if the end result is composting everyone wins!

We managed to document it onhand mandates and estimated organic waste production in the building. We found it especially interesting, since the supermarket located inside has their own policies in place to reduce waste in the first place.
