When the jurisdiction does not provide waste services . . .

For O+M, what to do when the project is in a jurisdiction that does not provide waste services such as compost or mixed recycling?

Not sure what the "right" answer is but our projects in isolated areas with no waste services seem to be developing options to provide it themselves. Volunteers and staff at one rural school have been taking recyclables to central bins 45 miles away...on their way to "town." A resort project is in the process of setting up an entire collection and disposal system to handle recyclables and divert waste as the hauler treats everything as landfill.  Again, not sure this is the "right" answer.
