Dear all,
I am preparing the contractor guidelines for LEED. The project is a large building and there will be two main contractors involved: one at the beginning which will carry out the early works (earthworks and containment), and another contractor which will develop the building construction.
I was wondering if I should add in the early works contractor the requirements for construction indoor air quality. I believe this does no apply to this stage since all work will be carried out outdoors. But I would like to know how you have addressed this in the past. do you think is ok to only include these requirements in the actual construction works?
Thanks

Hi Julio,
LEED BD+C v4 guide page 680 states “Ensure that the IAQ management plan is in place before starting above-ground construction, storing materials on site, or roughing in mechanical systems.” and page 679 states “Before construction begins, develop an IAQ management plan that meets or exceeds the credit requirements.”.
Therefore, it is better to include the requirement to both contractors.
