CS-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

Major Renovation

Dear LEED users,

We are working in a renovation project which design a new envelope. This new design defines different project floor areas.

According to AppendixG-TableG3.1.5 Building envelope -Baseline building requirement F which says "For existing envelopes, the baseline buildings design shall reflect existitng conditions prior to any revisions that are part of the scope of work being evaluated".

So it appears a doubt so, we consider two options:

a) mantain the actual envelope with actual building; existing floor areas.

b) mantain the actual envelope with proposed floor areas. In this case the baseline floor area and proposed floor area will be diffent.

Which is your opinion? The right way?

Thank you so much.

Best regards,

For those envelop assemblies that you retain you would model the existing condition in the baseline. For any new envelop assemblies you model the minimum code values in the baseline.
