we’re currently involved in the LEED Certification of a new building to be built in Portugal. In what relates with energy performance, we have a doubt related with proposed interior lighting power allowance.
According to Reference Guide, proposed design must comply with the mandatory provisions of ASHRAE 90.1-2010. However, it appears that interior lighting power allowance is not included in the mandatory provisions of the standard. Given this, we would like to confirm that if our building have an interior lighting power higher than that of baseline (calculated by either building area method or space-by-space method), it does not compromises compliance with LEED energy performance pre-requisite being the only consequence a lower energy performance when compared with baseline building. Is this interpretation correct?
