The weirdest job posting ever? Materials, Supply Chain Transformation & Circularity

As some of you know, BuildingEase is the first (FREE) platform focused on building products that combines a workflow tool, waste exchange and marketplace (yes, you actually buy it all right from the site!).

The platform saves tons of hours, major headaches and streamlines workflow within a firm and across a team.

We are going to be growing quickly this year and we will be needing a LOT of help!

We need a wide variety of skillsets, and we don’t rigidly divide those skillsets in traditional ways – we see who is interested in working with us, what skills and passions they have and then align those folks with the work that needs to be done. So, unlike a typical job description, I’m going to list different activities we need help with and if you are interested and check one or more of these boxes, in different combinations - it's all good! – Shoot me an email directly (bb@buildingease.com rather than SPI email)

BE is fully remote, geographic location is not relevant.

Type of employment:

Currently, we are looking for part-time – to – full-time contract folks, likely to be needing a number of completely FT positions in the new year.

- If you are in a day job that you want to keep but have an interest in moonlighting a bit – fair game!

- If you only want part-time contract work for other reasons – fair game!

- If you want full-time, but are willing to start as part-time/contract – super!

Type of skills/activities we need help with:

1. Product geek(s):

Someone who wants to get into the weeds and nitty-gritty related to materials, rating systems, compliance, and especially participating in the work we are doing to resolve the translation of the Common Materials Framework into standards-setting tools for owners/firms.

2. Educator, Guide, Problem solver:

Love interacting with owners/design professionals? We are onboarding more companies every day and need more folks who enjoy doing demos, educating, helping people both use the platform - but more importantly, use that engagement to help them internally address challenges they have within their firm – or to help them establish their priorities around internal standards.  There will be many full-time “account support” experts needed in 2023 who will be dedicated to specific companies as their on-call experts also.

3. Platform Design:

Contribute to the UI/UX of how our platform is designed – and evolve that design constantly. We have professional web and UI/UX folks, but industry knowledge and workflow experience in the field is key to informing those professionals about the best solutions.

4. Graphic Design:

This is also to contribute to the UI of the site, but for broader communications, marketing, collateral and other materials (this can be contract for a while, don’t need FT)

5. Community Engagement:

What we are doing is true disruption. A lot of the orgs we work with (whether owners or manufacturers) are struggling with how to evolve (internally) and we help them in this context – so a knowledge of the industry, a comfort level supporting change management plus a desire to also to lead focus/feedback groups focused on different topics (such as supporting a group of specific stakeholders evolve the CMF into usable standards…) and more!

If you are interested for the future, and timing isn't good for now - drop me a line anyway - we'll be hiring into the future!!

Happy (healthy!) holidays!
