Greetings,
The energy source of the project we are modeling is electricity only.
The project’s AHUs equipment is assigned to VRF HR intis, which is covering respectively its heating and cooling demands.
There is however one exception only to this equipment. It is a back-up hot water heating coil served by a gas boiler, just in case of electrical power failure in critical periods.
The question is:
Since in principle the project applies to System 8, should it be certified to System 7 just because of this exception.
Your advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

You can use a system 8. The use of gas is in an emergency situation only. It is not any different than an emergency generator as you describe it so during normal operation it will not come on at all.
