NC-v4.1 EQc2:Low-Emitting Materials

MDF Base

Should MDF base be documented in the Low-Emitting Materials flooring category like wall base, or in the composite wood category like subflooring?  I have seen MDF materials that meet the Formaldehyde Content Evaluation criteria, but I have not seen MDF materials that  meets the VOC Emissions Evaluation criteria.

I'm wondering if you ever found and answer to your question as I have a similar question about a particleboard product used as wall protection panels with plastic laminate adhered to it. It would seem that this product should be categorized under "Wall Panels", however they meeting Formaldehyde Content Evaluation Criteria, but do not have VOC Emissions Evaluation testing.

I am awaiting call notes from a pre-submittal conference call on Monday, but I was informed that MDF based is to be included in the Flooring category.  Additionally I was informed that composite wood blocking in the wall should be included in the Wall Panels category, and composite wood blocking in the ceiling should be included in the Ceilings category.
