NC-v4 WEp1:Outdoor water use reduction

Monthly ETO rates

Has anyone recently accesed IWMI for ETO rates? It used to be very straightforward but now the site has changed and the database doesnt seem to be accesible anymore to produce monthly ETO.

Now all previous links redirects you to http://waterdata.iwmi.org/pages/Products.php

I know we can still use EPA water budget tool as a resource but it only reports peak values https://www.epa.gov/watersense/water-budget-data-finder

Alternatively we can use the EPA water budget calculator but for more complex calculations we do need monthly data.

Hello Nate,  You have to download the ETO software from FAO (https://www.fao.org/land-water/databases-and-software/eto-calculator/en/)  You can run the program in the following steps - Start Program  - Create a new file  - Complete next tab with file name and Station description  - If data is not pulled from station, you can manually provide data via Input data description --Select data that you can provide  - Within Metrological data and ETo tab provide relevant data. I think if you provide 3 data point value (such as, Tmean, RH mean, n) it will show ETo value.  Hope this helps!

Hi! I've been using the FAO calculator for ET0, it gives you the data by day, I am calculating monthly values by multiplying the value per the number of days in a month, am I doing the right thing? Thanks!

Alexia,  FAO ETo Calculator gives you monthly values. I am not aware of your approach of multiplying the value per the number of days in a month to get monthly ETo values.

Hi Bipin! Thanks for your reply.
The FAO ET0 calculator is giving me the results in mm/day as a mean average for every month, not in mm/month.
I can't attach a picture of the results I get for you to see.
I don't know if there is a way to change the outcome to mm/month, do you know?
Thanks again and kind regards, Alexia

Hello Alexia,  It appears that I got average result values in mm/day (from FAO ETo  Calculator) and multiplied the value with the number of days in a month. It was accepted.  Regards  Bipin

Hello Bipin, When trying to create a new file. I keep receiving an Error: Illegal filename. Have you ever encountered this issue?

Hello Adolfo, I had no issue to create a new file. I tried using different name types like comma's, symbols, and long text. Its working fine on my computer.
