NC-v4 WEc3:Cooling tower water use

Who can supply Potable water analysis results?

Hello,

We are performing the credit Cooling Tower Water Use and our MEP contractor can supply the Potable water analysis results. Is this possible because we only read "Engage a water treatment professional to perform the analysis" in the Leed guide but not regulating about the qualities of the water testing party?

Hi - I think that's fine. As long as the testing report has the approporiate parameters listed and the cooling cycles are optimized to maximize the max level of concentration then it should meet the intent of the credit. I'd imagine you'd need a water treatment professional to get points beyond the minimum since chemical treatment would be required to go beyond the minimum cycles without treatment.
