NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

ASHRAE Standard 90.1 - 2016 in LEED v4

Dear all,

While following LEED v4 EA Minimum Energy Performance, can we use ASHRAE Standard 90.1 - 2016, as it's more stringent than the 2010 version, instead of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 - 2010?

Thanks

Yes you can. If you upgrade the credit to LEED v4.1 it references 90.1-2016.

But if we want to calculate credits based on v4, but still use 2016 stringent values. Can we?

You can go v4.1 for only this credit theres a button to do that. Then you can use 2016

Are we required to calculate credits following v4.1 Carbon emissions and energy consumption new methodology? or can we calculate credits according to v4, but use 90.1-2016?

There is a path for 90.1-2013 to be used in v4, but I am unaware of any 90.1-2016 options in v4.

Is there a particular reason you want to evaluate your project exclusively on a cost-basis and not also a carbon one? Appendix G in 2016 has its share of quirks, e.g., the BPFs, gas baselines in some climate zones.
