Are there any exceptions to the daylight control requirement of ASHRAE 90.1–2010?

Our proposed design has insulation R-values that are below those prescribed by ASHRAE 90.1-2010. Can we still meet the prerequisite?

EnergyStar - product categories to be included in the calculations

Hi All,

This prerequisite says: "Install ENERGY STAR appliances, office equipment, electronics, and commercial food service equipment (HVAC, lighting, and building envelope products are excluded) for 50% (by rated-power) of the total ENERGY STAR eligible products in the project." The reference guide however does not mention categories such as "Data Centers" and "Others" which are listed on EnergyStar web page.

Can you confirm that equipment which is listed under "Data Centers" (e.g. servers and UPS) and "Others" (e.g. vending machines and water coolers) categories on EnergyStar webpage don't have to be included in the calculations for this LEED prerequisite?

All of the equipment that Energy Star rates is required to be included in the calculation.
