CS-v4 EAc5:Renewable energy production

Solar panels outside LEED boundary

Hi

My project is a mixed use complex with two towers sitting on top of a seven storey podium. Only the podium would pursue LEED certification. If we place solar panels on top of the two tower roofs and direct all of the produced energy to the podium only, can it be counted towards this credit and also EAc2 Optimize Energy Performance?

Yes. The credit requirements and reference guide talk about the requirements for off-site and third party systems.
