NC-v4.1 EQc1:Enhanced Indoor Air Quality Strategies

Strategy #4 - Filtration of Recirculated Air

I wonder what GBCI considers to be "recirculated air"?

The language in the April 2021 v4.1 BD+C reference guide states "each ventilation system that suppies air to occupied spaces must have particle filters or air-cleaning devices that meet .... filtration requirements."

Curious if the following will be enforced to comply:

Fan-Powered VAVs that recirculate plenum air into the occupied space.

Ductless split systems.

Air curtains at loading dock doors.

Destratification fans, desktop plug-in fans, hand dryers in restrooms.

ALL units serving 'unoccupied' spaces.

Hi Dave, the wording indicates, it is for VENTILATION system, outdoor air to occupied spaces, not for the recirculation cooling, both must have different filtr types and Filtration stages.
