Maintenance Equipment Replacement - can it wait until end of life?

Hi all,

With regards to the optional element “maintenance equipment”, we have a project looking to achieve this credit via reducing emissions by 50% for GC and NOx, as well as 75% reduction in CO emissions from the baseline conditions. The project currently uses gasoline equipment. Wondering if equipment has to be replaced (to electric alternative) to meet the emission reduction targets during the first year of the performance period in order to receive certification? Or, can it be written into the Plan that these will be changed at the end of their useful life? Changing equipment before the end of their useful doesn’t seem environmentally responsible.

Thanks for your help!
