I am working on a project which will be built on existing site. Results of site assessment shows presence of asbestos and soil pollutions.
- I wonder if requirements of Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction credit and Construction and Demolition Waste Management are applied to the exiting site to be demolished or only need to be considered for new construction.
- Additionally except following credits are there any other credits that will be affected by demolition process of existing building:
- Sensitive Land Protection
- High Priority Site
- Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction
- Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction

1. Demolition waste must be considered in the Construction and Demolition Waste Management calculation if it is in the project scope, however, hazardous waste should be excluded. It does not need to be included in the LCA if you take that path within Building Life Cycle Impact Reduction.
2. Take a look at the template worksheets for Integrative Process and Site Assessment. They have some questions about site conditions and how it affected design. Construction Activity Pollution Prevention would also be affected, as applicable.
