More information on the initiative can be found here: https://autocase.com/equity/. This two-hour session is the first of three workshops and will be an interactive session with breakout groups to collect people’s thoughts on topics like:
  • What makes a project equitable?
  • What information is important to have at your fingertips?
  • What decisions can designers make that influence EJ, when can they be made, and who has the power to make them?
The first of three workshops will be Fri Oct 1 at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern. Register for the free workshop here https://autocase.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcvcOupqj8pGdQ43U2PxleBfIaG1gbD0tQt The team hopes that a range of voices are heard, including: community members, students, architects, engineers, landscape architects, local and national government departments, developers, NGOs, and more! Hi Green Gurus, As of last month, the Building Environmental Justice Tool is live! The Building EJ Tool is a FREE online platform to be used by project teams and community advocates with the aim of better-reflecting environmental justice and social equity on building projects.  The tool has four key modules:
  • Project Tool → The Project Tool provides a localized data dashboard & interactive toolkit to identify the needs of the community, assess your project’s progress, and document your team's actions – allowing design teams to integrate EJ into all their projects.

  • Find People module → A public-facing directory of EJ practitioners & community development advocates, allowing design teams to engage them on projects as local experts.

  • Find projects module → Users of the Project Tool can make their project public, allowing local community advocates, EJ practitioners, and community-based organizations to 1) gain transparency into projects in their area, & 2) actively reach out to project teams to be engaged as a beneficial partner.
  • Resources hub → The Resources Hub provides other relevant tools, data sources, guides, and frameworks that design teams or community advocates can use.
If anyone who helped create this tool or anyone who's been using it wants to chime in, we'd love to hear your take! If there's interest in a demo or webinar, let me know and we can make that happen. Jen & the BG Team

I'd love to see a demo or a webinar that features case studies of how this tool has been implemented and the data on the back-end that is informing decision-making.  Thanks! Efrie

Thu, 07/14/2022 - 15:13

I have enjoyed using the tool the last few days, and am sure I'd benefit from a webinar.  For example, has anyone figured out how to share a project within a project team without making it public to the world? Is that possible to do?

Thu, 07/14/2022 - 15:49

Exciting that it is done! I'd love a demo or webinar.

Thu, 07/14/2022 - 17:29

Excited about this as well! The link seems to be pointing to another webinar so I am unable to register. HA! Have to laugh at myself. I see now that this was a much older thread that was in play, from a year ago. Suffice it to say I am VERY eager for a demo/webinar. 😉 Heather DeGrella AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Fitwel Ambassador, EAC-PS, | (she / her / hers) Associate Principal | Sustainable Design Director [cid:opsislogo2021_13a53c65-c652-4f53-a86d-657f2f0f9b85.png] Architecture, Interiors & Planning 920 NW 17th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209 o 503.525.9511 d 503.943.6228 w opsisarch.com

Wed, 07/20/2022 - 13:28

Hi friends- Sorry for any confusion from my reviving an old thread! It sounds like there's definitely interest in a demo of the Building EJ Tool, so I'll get that scheduled soon. I'll be sure to start a new thread for that announcement! :)

For what it's worth, the recording from last year is available under the "recorded webinars" tab.
