I am working for a Native American Tribal owner who would like to pursue LEEDv4 for a hotel adjacent to their Casino, but there is an expectation to have a designated smoking floor. Additional bipolar ionization will be on that floor, but I am unsure if they can still pursue LEED certification with this prerequisite challenge.

Hi summer. Yes you can still pursue this prerequisite. Instead of following leed v4 version, switch over to leed v4.1 version of the same prerequisite. There is an option to switch to LEED v4.1 credit or prerequisite on LEED online. LEED v4.1 Environment tobacco control prerequisite gives an option to have a dedicated smoking area within the building given it is seperately ventilated by having its own ventilation system which does not mix with any other ventilation system of the same building. Negative pressurization is a must. Hope it's clear.

As a precaution, I would get confirmation in writing from LEED Coach on your situation, specifically. You don't want to wait until your review to know if your system setup acceptable or not. I have a v3 Platinum casino project, and they were very strict about everything related to this prereq.
