NC-v4.1 MRc4:Material Ingredients

Referencing the webinar Materials and Resources dated Jan 28, 2019 - Natural Stone credit taken out

Pilot credit library discussion around EPD and Sourcing Credits - subject matter answering questions at the end - a statement was made that the Natural Stone credit had been taken out.  can someone walk me through how this effects our LEED certification as it relates to points?  Is the removal just for ID&C or for all?

Context: Natural Stone has a LEED certification ANSI/NSC 373.  it is 3rd party verified and is an assessment not just a tranparency document.

The Natural Stone Sustainability Standard (ANSI/NSC 373) examines and verifies numerous areas of natural stone production; effectively improving the baseline for the environmental performance of natural stone. And...

  • Recognizes and drives sustainability practices in the natural dimension stone industry.
  • Establishes a set of well-defined environmental, ecological, social responsibility and human health metrics through a multi-stakeholder, science-based approach, recognized by the green building movement as an indicator of leadership in sustainability performance.
  • Provides an important opportunity to educate key members of the design and building professions, end users, government, and environmental advocacy groups about the production of natural dimension stone products.

~~Comment can be found around 50-57 minutes into the webinar.  Understanding this will help other know how to be better stewards of the design process ~~
