Smart bins with sensor-based technology: Ultrasonic sensors that guide the fill levels of waste and communicate this information to the cloud for further processing and analysis must be installed in the municipal bins.
Image-based or weight based trash can sensors: Sensors that monitor the fullness and contents of the trash can based on the material, shape, color, and/or weight to divert the waste accordingly must be installed in the trash cans to track and send data to a cloud-based platform.
Route optimization using intelligent waste management platform: A smart waste collection system must analyze the level of waste in the trash bins and process the information to optimize routes of the waste collection vehicles.
