Weekend trips

Does anyone have experience with a project not being open on weekends and still getting credit if the weekend trips are below the minimum? I am submitting additional information with a letter from the tenant saying they are not open on weekends so I hope USGBC will not require weekend trips? We are in small town Missouri and I think we are luck to qualify for two points based on weekly trip quantity.

that is a negatory. Exceptions to the weekend service requirement are not generally available to projects. The intent of this credit is to encourage development in locations well served by transit, and the definition of quality transit developed for the rating system includes weekend transit. GBCI would potentially consider exceptions for projects that can demonstrate that the building is intended to have zero weekend occupancy (including custodial / maintenance / security staff). To review an exception, the project team would need to provide a narrative describing the anticipated occupancy and restrictions on weekend access. However, Path 2 of this credit was provided as a way to provide a pathway for projects in areas where public transportation does not provide high frequency service. So, your team would also need to justify why the project could not reasonably meet the requirements of this path.

Hi Aaron, how did you solve the issue?
To me it doesn't make much sense to include Weekend trips to an area that is exclusively visited during Weekdays, like big industrial and office centers.. so empty buses are supposed to drive the route hundreds of times - isn't that also environmentally unfriendly i wonder.
