CS-v4 EQp1:Minimum indoor air quality performance

Minimum outdoor air requirement for Parking

Hi every one,

Can someone else explain how to determine the minimum outdoor requirement rate for a parking area use ASHRAE 60.1-2010. I look up table 62.1 2010 but there is no mention of the parking area.

Thank you!

I hope that there are people who are not looking at this with any issue. There are some things that should be talked about and this kind of thing should be mentioned. Parking areas are a massive part of what we are doing here and the air quality is important given that cars will have trouble parking there if they are exposed to too much heat and the cars will eventually hurt from that kind of thing. I hope more people will see this and properly look at positives and possible solutions in the future to the other problems there.

You need to look at Table 6-4 in ASHRAE 62.1. That defines parking garage exhaust rates as well as some exceptions for open area on walls. Occupancy Category:  Parking garages   Exhaust Rate, cfm/ft2: 0.75 Notes: C    Air Class: 2 Note C: Exhaust not required if two or more sides comprise walls that are at least 50% open to the outside.
