Outdoor air intake rate

Dear all, I have a question regarding the baseline outdoor air intake rate.

Suppose the designed outdoor air intake rate doesn't follow ASHRAE 62.1, and the design outdoor air flow rate is smaller than the air flow rate in ASHRAE 62.1 table 6-1.  No DCV control has been used in the design.  The proposed model outdoor air flow rate should be same as what has been designed.  Doesn the baseline model outdoor air intake flow rate need to be the same as the proposed model, or will the baseline model outdoor air intake flow rate will be recalculated based on ASHRAE 62.1?

This changed in v4. As I understand it the proposed is modeled as designed and the baseline uses the 62.1 calculated values.

i concur with Marcus...since he is never wrong, but I have a differenct comment. If the design rate is smaller than 62.1 how are you demonstrating complaiance with the ventilation prereq? Per vent prereq language "follow 62.1 or local equivalent, whichever is more stringent"

Thank you, I am not working on the LEED v4 project but an 2015 IECC low-rise multi-family project . I realized the outdoor air intake rate for low-rise is calculated through air change per hour. I was referencing ASHRAE 90.1-2013 G3.1.2.6 " Minimum ventilation system outdoor air intake flow shall be the same for the proposed and the baseline design.  That is why I got confused.

The rating authority or building official will dictate - since it is not a LEED project.  Sorry i could not provide more guidance.
