Option 2 seems straight forward, but as I read it over again there seems to be holes.  Option 2 states to include all construction and demolition waste and diverted materials in the calculation of total project waste. Exclude hazardous materials and land-clearing debris from calculations.

Path 1. Generate less than 15 lbs./ft2 (75 kg/m2) (1 point) or Path 2. Generate less than 10 lbs./ft2 (50 kg/m2) (2 points)

So, in my case, I have a project where the LEED Boundary is 318,735 sqft total.  The building itself has a footprint of 57,320 sqft.  And the total amount of recycled and non-recycled waste is 488,350 pounds.  Seems like this project should get 2 points either way...488,350 lbs/318,735 sqft = 1.53 lbs/sqft...and...488,350 lbs/57,320 sqft = 8.52 lbs/sqft.

Can someone let me know if it's this simple? or am I doing it wrong?

Is this calculation based on the building's floor area like in version 4 or is it based on the entire LEED Boundary?
