Green Education

Hello Gloria,  The project must provide two educational components to meet the requirement of this Innovation strategy. The project may provide any two among - a case study, a guided tour, an educational outreach program, a website, or an electronic newletter.  Also, educational components must include project-specific information related to all six major green building categories in the LEED rating system. Hi Bipin Karki,  My project a garment factory in Cambodia recently submitted for this IN credit using these two methods: 1) Case study (accepted) 2) Thought of using slides as an educational outreach program to educate the workers of this facility (about 2000 workers) to be a responsible building user (this was not accepted, they ask to submit second strategy) My question should I emphasize on the worker's education program by adding a brochure or fact sheet to be provided during the education session apart from slides or look to explore the electronic newsletter option for final submission. Because for the electronic newsletter, I could not find many details on how to implement it is like a one-off or has to be monthly. Do you have any idea on this matter? Advance thanks for your help !!  

Hello Azfar,  Either should fine an electronic newsletter or a brochure. I do not think there are specific requirements for an electronic newsletter regarding how to implement it, like one time or periodically. And the LEED features implemented may not change during building operation for NC: Core and Shell projects, but new hires should be aware of such features. Both the approach should provide project-specific information related to all six major green building categories in the LEED rating system. Given the project type, providing a brochure or pamphlet highlighting LEED features to be distributed to the workers or new hires should be fine. Hope this helps!
