Add the following before the last sentence. "Multifamily buildings must include activities associated with unit turnover and are allowed to exclude resident purchasing from tracking completely. If a multifamily building is mixed use, the nonresidential portions of the building must still include a minimum of 90% of the area in credit calculations."

Multifamily
Though multifamily projects can exclude resident purchasing from tracking, there are many ways building managers and landlords can incentivize and promote environmentally preferable purchasing by residents. For example create a resident resource that lists locations of nearby second-hand or reuse stores where residents could purchase items and also donate items no longer needed. Set up a listserv or create a bulletin board so that residents can advertise items they no longer need.
