Behind the Intent, replace the second paragraph with the following:
This credit identifies IAQ strategies that extend beyond the outdoor air requirements of EQ Prerequisite Minimum Indoor Air Quality Performance. Best management practices include the installation of entryway systems to prevent contaminants from being brought inside by occupants, use of enhanced filtration media, monitoring strategies for ventilation systems, providing effective mechanical or natural ventilation for residential spaces, and properly venting cooking and heating equipment. Each strategy alone is beneficial, but a combination of multiple strategies is encouraged.
In Step-by-Step Guidance, Step 2, add additional columns to Table 1, for the Multifamily strategies available in Option 2: Mechanical ventilation, Cooking appliances, Space and water heating equipment, and Natural ventilation.
In Step-by-Step Guidance, Option 2. Additional Enhanced IAQ Strategies, add sections for Mechanical Ventilation (Multifamily only), Cooking Appliances (Multifamily only), Space and water heating equipment (Multifamily only), and Natural ventilation (Multifamily only).

In Further Explanation, above Examples, add sections for: Choosing a whole-house ventilation system, Calculating whole-house ventilation, and Multifamily ventilation strategies. [Insert linked text: www.usgbc.org/resources/enhanced-iaq-strategiesfurther-explanation-71201...
In Further Explanation, Rating System Variations, add the following:
Multifamily
For Option 1, for all common areas in the building, follow the Step-by-Step Guidance. Additionally, determine whether the building has residential units with direct entrances to the exterior. For these entrances, provide a walk off mat. There are no length or maintenance requirements for the walk off mats, but as a best practice, these characteristics are recommended to be considered.
In Required Documentation, reformat the table, and add the following rows for Multifamily, Option 2
Mechanical ventilation (Multifamily only),
(E) Documentation confirming compliance with ASHRAE 62.2, such as calculations for whole-house mechanical ventilation and local exhaust.
(P) Measured flow rate of the mechanical systems and description of method or protocol used to take measurements
Cooking appliances (Multifamily only),
(E) Documentation, such as a detailed narrative, showing the type of cooking appliances installed in the residential units.
(E) If gas fueled cooking appliances are installed, documentation showing the appliances are hooded and vented to the outdoors.
Space and water heating equipment (Multifamily only)
(E) Documentation, such as a detailed narrative, showing the gas fueled space and water heating equipment is directly vented to the outdoors.
Natural ventilation (Multifamily only)
(E) Design calculations, narrative, and diagrams demonstrating effective natural ventilation per referenced standard.
