"Rating System Variations
Multifamily
The IPM plan must include the entire building and grounds within the property boundary and cover all pest control activities under the control of the building management. The IPM plan must also include the role of the building occupants, including their monitoring, prevention, and pest control responsibilities.
Best practices include integrating IPM terminology and housekeeping responsibilities in the lease, inspecting and monitoring units periodically for pests, focusing extra efforts on units with poor housekeeping practices, and allocating staff time and funding towards implementing the pest management professionals recommendations on pest prevention and exclusion.
See Further Explanation, Resources for resources specific to implementing IPM in multifamily housing."
