The equipment used to test air flow for EQ 4.3 often includes some error. Is there an acceptable tolerance or variation (e.g. +/- 10%) that can be used for satisfying this credit? Can the credit be awarded if the tested air flow rate is 95% of the ASHRAE 62.2 required minimum? 90% of the ASHRAE 62.2 required minimum?
Ruling
In order to award this credit, the tested air flow rate must meet or exceed the requirement set by ASHRAE 62.2 or equivalent. No tolerance is allowed, but if the Rater tests the air flow multiple times, it is acceptable to use the best (highest) air flow rate to satisfy this credit.
