Can part (e) be awarded if the project has the same amount of parking as the prior structure on-site? What does the word "new" mean - new to the site, or new to the project?
For new construction projects, part (e) may only be awarded if there is no new parking within the scope of the LEED project (new to the site), however, existing parking that is left entirely untouched is acceptable. This credit is not measured by comparing the LEED building to previous buildings on the project site. For gut-rehab projects, part (e) may be awarded if the number of parking spaces in the project remains the same or is decreased.
