This project meets the intent of this prerequisite as it is a smoke-free base building and interior tenant space thereby preventing exposure of tenants to ETS. However, this project is a tenant space within a high rise office building and the exterior is beyond our scope of work. When asking if we could have a "designated smoking area" signage, the landlord did not see it appropriate or necessary. In lieu of this, we are proposing signage be applied to the tenant\'s interior entry storefront windows/door (as there is no direct exterior access) indicating this is a smoke-free tenant space and please smoke beyond 25\'of the main building entry doors. The credit requirements state the following for which we believe we are in compliance and proposing for your review and approval / comment: 1. Smoke free base building: Yes 2. Smoke free tenant space: Yes 3. Operable windows: No 4. Air intakes: Not within 25\'of the base building or tenant entry 5. Main entry to base building: Not within 25\' of entry to tenant space (and no exterior entry directly into the tenant space). 6. Designated smoking area: "No Smoking" signage on our tenant space windows within the lobby of the base building.

Ruling

Your plan to locate all operable windows and air intakes more than 25\' away from public space and providing an air lock vestibule at all public entryways is acceptable to meet the intent of this prerequisite under the described limitations. Applicable Internationally.
