Any trees counted for this credit should have a caliper (trunk thickness) of between 1.5 and 3 inches, depending on the type of tree, soil quality, etc. Larger trees may require an anchoring system. A local landscape professional or arborist association should be able to provide useful input on an appropriate caliper for a particular tree.
