I\'m working on a project that has 3 types of sealers/sealants that don\'t explicitly appear in Table 26. They are: acoustical sealant; construction joint sealant; and stone sealer. I'm assuming that these are all \'architectural sealants\' and have a VOC limit of 25 g/L, but I wanted to confirm.

Ruling

The South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1168 does provide specific definitions for each type of adhesive and sealant. See http://www.aqmd.gov/rules/reg/reg11/r1168.pdf for specifics. The definition provided for architectural sealant is as follows: ARCHITECTURAL SEALANT OR SEALANT PRIMER is any sealant or sealant primer applied to stationary structures, including mobile homes, and their appurtenances. Appurtenances to an architectural structure include, but are not limited to: hand railings, cabinets, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, fences, rain gutters and downspouts, and windows.
