Yes, see the pre-approved ID point for solar ready design. 1/2 ID point can be earned for PV ready, and 1/2 ID point can be earned for solar DHW ready if the measures below are met:
PV Ready – meet all of the following:
• No active PV system that earns credit in EA 1 or EA 10.
• have all necessary hardware and electrical work for a functional PV system, except the installation of the PV panels; AND
• the design and installation must be signed-off by a PV contractor; AND
• the roof must have a minimum of 450 square feet of south-facing area that is oriented appropriately for solar applications; AND
• the homeowners manual must have detailed information about the system, so as to enable future occupants to easily install an active PV system.
Solar DHW Ready – meet all of the following:
• No active solar DHW system that earns credit in EA 1 or EA 7.
• have all necessary hardware and plumbing for a functional DHW system, except the rooftop installation of the water heating system; AND
• the design and installation must be signed-off by a solar DHW contractor; AND
• the roof must have a minimum of 450 square feet of south-facing area that is oriented appropriately for solar applications; AND
• the homeowners manual must have detailed information about the system, so as to enable future occupants to easily install an active solar DHW system.
