In a recent ruling, MR Gen-16, the TASC ruled "For the purposes of the threshold adjuster, only the living space within the dwelling units should be counted." How does this affect the calculation in MR 3? The waste calculation includes conditioned floor area, but waste on a multi-family project includes waste from both the dwelling units and the common spaces, etc. Should the waste calculation just be based on total floor area - not just in dwellings, and not just conditioned?
For the purposes of the waste calculations in MR 3, count all floor area (conditioned or not) in the building. This includes unconditioned hallways, foyers, elevator shafts, stairwells, etc. This number is deliberately different than the floor area used in the home size adjuster.
