Our NC ver. 2.1 project has a 36kW rooftop PV array which will supply 31.93% percent of the total energy used by the building, based on our energy simulation. This will qualify us for 3 LEED points under EA credit 2. We request clarification of the ID credit threshold for EA credit 2. Previous CIR ruling dated 1/11/05 set the ID threshold at 40% (double the 3-point threshold of 20%, in effect at that time). However, shortly thereafter a CIR ruling on 1/19/05 included an interpolation table which established the new 3-point threshold at 15.51%. Following the logic of doubling the 3-point credit threshold, we believe the ID credit threshold should be set at 31.02% (2 x 15.51%). Please confirm if this approach is acceptable.
