I\'ve got a builder trying to decide between FSC floor framing lumber and I-joists that are made with no UF glues. The builder found them listed in Green Spec 2006. It\'s a substantial amount of lumber, but it\'s not a material listed in the rating system as qualifying under low emissions. Can this type of product be awarded 1/2 point under low-emissions?
Ruling
No credit should be granted for the use of I-joists. While it is preferable to have I-joists with no added UF, this is not worthy of credit.
