No credit should be granted for internal, operable shading devices. As per the RESNET guidelines, the energy model already assumes some blinds on all windows. Credit can be granted for exterior or integrated shading devices if they are permanent and inoperable or automated. This can be done by modeling the window with a lower SHGC that reflects the impact of the shading coefficient on the glazing part of the window. Any calculations like this must be reviewed by the energy modeler. Applicable Internationally.
