Can commercial lighting fixtures be used to meet the credit requirements, even if they aren\'t Energy Star labeled? What if they are equivalent in the energy performance to Energy Star labeled residential fixtures?
Ruling
No exemption is granted for commercial fixtures. The Energy Star label addresses more than energy use (e.g., color and flicker), so commercial lighting cannot easily be equated. Project-specific CIRs may be submittted that include a justification for the use of commercial fixtures and lighting details. Applicable Internationally.
