EQ 10.2, part a) iii) requires that the walls and ceilings of the garage be painted, but it also seems to assume that the garage walls are drywall. If this building has concrete garage walls and the garage is ventilated (per code), do the walls still need to be painted to earn this credit?
Upon review, painting has not been shown to be effective in limiting CO exposure. Part a-iii is not required by any project as a condition for earning EQ 10.2. In the future, the TASC may replace this requirement with a more effective sealant requirement, but until then this credit may be earned by meeting all other requirements.
