EQ 6.1 states: "(using ACCA Manuals J and D, the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals, or an equivalent computation procedure)" The project team intends to use the Carrier E20-II software to calculate loads. This software follows ASHRAE standards. Does this meet the intent of "an equivalent computation procedure"?
Ruling
Green Rater has some discretion in determining this. The software needs to have the capability to produce room-by-room load calculations based on specific features of the home (e.g. location, green EE features) that can be used to properly size the HVAC equipment and distribution system.
