For projects with intermittent or cycling ventilation systems, is there a requirement for how frequently the ventilation system must come on, or how long it must stay on?

ASHRAE Standard 62.2, section 4.4 provides guidance on how to calculate this. See the equation provided in the Standard; a system that operates infrequently must compensate with a larger fan flow rate.
